Painting Class
April - May 2020
Learn art history while mixing and blending acrylic paint. This group meets once per week on Fridays from 1:00pm-2:00pm EST throughout April and May. We use Zoom as our platform for video conferencing. This 1-hour painting class is offered for free to kids of all skill levels. Recommended for ages 8-12.

Portraits

Our first class! This lesson was an introduction to painting portraits. Everyone had the choice to design their own character. We all started on a light blue background and worked step by step painting features and expressions onto our figures.
The Dream by Henri Rousseau

In week 2 we drew inspiration from Henri Rousseau’s 1910 masterpiece “The Dream.” We started by painting the lion figure on a black background and added jungle plants on top to make it look like its hiding.
